Gladius Romano, Cold Steels
The Roman Gladius is perhaps the most well-known piece of ancient weaponry. It is a simple and long blade, with a double edge and a long tip, making it a Ideal weapon for stabbing or piercing that could defeat the armor of its era.Cold Steel's® interpretation is not a reproduction of a specific ancient Gladius, but is a collection of the main features of this venerable sword. The blade, for example, has the traditional shape, but, unlike the old version, it is made of high-carbon steel with spring tempering. It is fully sharpened on both edges and has a fine mirror polish. The tip is long but sturdy enough to resist bending or breaking. Pattern Maintz Gladius, Windlass
The Roman army sought a direct and pragmatic approach to warfare. The Gladius was chosen as the main weapon, as it is practical and efficient and excels in any hand-to-hand combat situation. With this sword they conquered most of the then known world. The original examples of this replica were excavated from the ruins of Pompeii. Examples can be found in the book "What The Soldiers Wore On Hadrian's Wall", by H. Russell Robinson. The early Gladius, like this version based on the Maintz pattern, had a wasp-like waist and a long tip that combined slashing and stabbing capabilities into a useful weapon . This replica based on the Maintz pattern has a bone cuff with ornate brass applications on the hem. Made from high carbon steel by Windlass Steelcrafts and comes factory sharpened.Includes matching wooden sheath with leather cover and brass applications.Manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts.Note that this sword is not a battle-ready weapon. Gladius Pompeii, Windlass
The light and the efficient – this was how the Gladius was known among the ancient Roman army. It was the main weapon, as it could be used efficiently in any hand-to-hand combat situation. Roman Capsa, leather scroll holder with 3 scrolls
Before there were books as we know them today, people used scrolls to write their stories and tales. Papyrus scrolls originated in ancient Egypt, from where they spread to ancient Greece and Rome. The scrolls, which were usually hundreds of feet long, contained a lot of important information. To protect the delicate scrolls from outside influences, they were kept in baskets, pots, jars, or the cover. The capsa is a bag or case developed by the Romans, in which several scrolls could be carried at the same time. It was usually a large, cylindrical container made of leather or wood, closed with a lid and which could be worn comfortably on the body thanks to a handle. The capsa offered here is made of two types of leather of different colors and is securely closed with a cap. The long, adjustable strap can be used as a belt to carry the parchment container on your hip or as a shoulder strap. Not only does our cover look great, but it also contains 3 matching scrolls that are just waiting to be entered by you. Two wooden sticks are attached to each of the scrolls so you can easily unroll them. When not in use, the parchment is attached by a leather strap.Suitable for a scholar, your apprentice, or any other LARP character who doesn't want to embark on an adventure without their important documents or conjurations, curses, or spells. This stand is also useful for a bard to store his letters safely.Details:- Material: Leather - Width: approx. 8 cm- Height: approx. 27.5 cm- Weight with rolls: approx. 620 g- Weight without rolls: approx. 400 gSpecifications may vary slightly from part to part.Remember that leather is a natural product and variations in color and grain are normal. Pugio de Vindonissa with silver inlays
Last items in stock
Pugio de Vindonissa with silver inlays This beautiful, richly ornamented replica of a Roman dagger is an example of great craftsmanship. Both the riveted cable and the front cover of the sheath feature a very elaborate silver inlay. The wooden sheath is covered in leather, with four characteristic riveted brass suspension rings for proper attachment to the belt. The blade has a total of four narrow fullers tapering toward the tip. The edges are not sharp. Our reproduction follows the model of an archaeological find from the Roman legionary camp of Vindonissa, now Windisch, Switzerland. The apple displays a trident, symbol of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. This may suggest that this Pugio was originally created for an officer in the Roman naval forces.

Setting up the tent is a relatively easy task that can be completed quickly and stress-free thanks to the loop system. The posts can be adjusted in length to suit your needs. When assembling the tent, make sure that the ropes connecting the roof angles and the stakes continuously follow the lines of the tent seams and that the stakes are properly aligned with the bottom corners or loops of the tent. Do not overstretch the ropes , as natural materials such as wood or cotton change under the influence of air humidity and need room to contract and expand. You can prevent, for example, the roof holes for the poles from being distended and ultimately making it easier for water to enter. We recommend loosening the ropes a little at night, as the humidity in the air increases considerably at night and can increase the risk of excessive stress exerted on your tent. The ropes should also be loosened a little in rain or high atmospheric humidity.
When assembling the side wall, it is best to start from the opening side of the tent. As an additional preventive measure against moisture and mold, the walls of the tent should not touch the ground as much as possible (this does not apply to tents with tarpaulin). If the tent has been exposed to moisture, we strongly recommend that you dry it after use, as otherwise it is likely to mold. Wooden poles should never be wrapped in plastic or anything like that. Once the poles are dry, a cotton cloth is perfectly sufficient. Do not, under any circumstances, use detergents or any other cleaning products to clean your tent. The best way to remove dried dirt is to use a brush. As for storing your tent for a long period of time, separate all the accessories (stakes, ropes, etc.) from the tent itself and preferably pack everything separately. Make sure all items are dry and stored in a dry place.

The tents are handmade, which gives them an authentic look on the one hand, but can also result in one or two minor defects on the other hand. Cotton is a natural material that reacts differently depending on various outdoor conditions and can shrink or expand considerably. As a result, the iron poles included in the delivery may not immediately fit into the designated holes. In certain cases, you may need to shorten the posts a bit to size. Do not attempt to stretch the skin of the tent by force, as this increases the risk of the tarp tearing or the stitches breaking.Important information about the assembly, handling and maintenance of our historic tents:You can extend the life of your Viking tent, Roman tent, Saxon tent, Knights tent, medieval tent, commercial tent or medieval market stalland enjoy its use for a longer time by observing the following precautions:
