A Roman coin found near the helmet has the date of 319, so the helmet is very likely from the beginning of the 4th century.

This reconstruction is based on a helmet crown found in Northwich (Cheshire/UK) and flaps on four in Gloucester. This replica has a beautiful hallmarking, probably from a young man with curly hair.
The ornamentation in the jitt flaps depicts Neptune.
