This Celtic/Gellic helmet was inspired by surviving examples, of which the most prominent may be the Iron Rudder Port bei Nidau recovered in virtually intact conditions of the Thielle River in Port (near Nidau, Switzerland) in the late 19th century.
The Port Type rudder has its roots in Eastern Gaul. Typical features were the vaulted bowl, the protective bulge of the neck, the embossed eyebrows and the cheek pieces. Although this helmet is undoubtedly of Celtic origin and was worn by the Gauls, it is believed to have been worn in the Roman ranks during caesar's Gallic Wars (58-50 BC) as well. This particular form was finally adopted by the Romans, evolving into the so-called Imperial Gallic Weisenau, the classic Roman Legionnaire helmet as we know it.
This reconstruction of a Lalic Port helmet with articulated parts is made of 1.2 mm steel (gauge 18). The distinctive neck protector is attached to the bowl with five round rivets. The interior is not lined, but the delivery includes a padded cotton cover that makes the helmet fully usable. In addition, small rings are mounted on the inner side of the cheek plates to facilitate the fixation of a chin strap.

When ordering a single item, the postage has a fixed value of €30, prices only for Mainland Portugal and Islands and Peninsular Spain. You must always indicate a telephone contact number to avoid non-receipt of your order.

DELIVERY
Orders are generally shipped within 2 to 12 working days depending on the items chosen through CTT or Transport Agency after receipt of payment.

Due to the specificity of the items sold by Loja Rei das Espadas, returns are only accepted under the following circumstances:
- The product sent is damaged by proven manufacturing defect.
- The characteristics of the product sent do not correspond to those described in the Online-Store
All items are shipped in perfect condition. If you receive any damaged item and that is justified, you can return it. We will send an identical article in good condition. You can request a return by email. The customer has 14 days to return the item.
Returns of products subject to special, personalized or made-to-measure orders are not accepted.

- We recommend sending the product by an insured carrier. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused to the product during transport.
