This hood also features a triangular ventail that can be folded. The ventail is padded inside and covered with leather and can be secured with a leather lace.

The Morion is an open helmet that was developed in the 16th century.
These helmets were mainly worn by soldiers and pickets, later also by domestic troops and city clocks. Still the Pope's bodyguards, the Swiss guards are using Morions.
The helmet has a comfortable and adjustable leather lining and a strong chin strap with buckle.
The lining is fixed by steel rivets.

This replica of an Italian iron hat i shand-forged 1.6 mm thick steel. The original is dated 1460.These helmets were worn not only in Italy, but for example. it is also very common in Switzerland and southern Germany, especially by infantry troops. The wide flap not only protects the head, but also the shoulders, chest and back from any danger that comes from above, such as the arrow of the end of the medieval arch.
The corrugated and crossed steel bands are riveted into the helmet. This consists of two parts that have been welded together in the center. Although the thickness of the material is "only" 1.6 mm, the helmet can be described as ready for battle.
