Seax knife with wire-wrapped handle
Although most popularly associated with the Vikings, seax, also called scramasax, was used throughout the spectrum of Germanic, Scandinavian, and Saxon/Anglo-Saxon societies from the migration period to the early Middle Ages. Carried by men and women, it was a multifunctional blade that served as weapon of war, day-to-day tool or prestigious object. Surviving specimens provide evidence that this particular type of knife or Dagger can not only vary greatly in shape and design, but also in quality - ranging from simple and coarse examples to sumptuous and elaborately adorned luxury pieces - and size.In terms of size, the handmade Viking-era sax knife we offer here stands on the threshold between a long dagger and a short sword. It features an EN45 unsharp steel blade of a edge with a thick spine, a pointed tip and a full spike that is threaded into the pommel. The guard and pommel are both cast in steel and the handle of the wooden core is firmly wrapped in wire. All the pieces have been darkened, which makes the handle really attractive and gives the medieval knife an elegant but gloomy and rustic character.

Arkansas dagger with sheath
The main competition for the Bowie knife from the late 1830s through the period just after the Civil War was the Arkansas toothpick. The Arkansas Toothpick got its name as an ironic reference to the crass and violent culture that populated the Arkansas and Mississippi Delta lowlands in the mid-nineteenth century. Traveling journalists from Europe often made up stories about how they used to see men and old men picking their teeth with giant knives they dubbed the Arkansas Toothpicks.Like the Bowie, it was often a big sword, almost always double-edged and a sharp, sharp edge. The knife almost always had a double guard of quillon. Many were sophisticated and some mimicked the Bowies of the time in size and appearance. Of course, some Daggers were simple, but most were elaborately decorated. The Cold Steels® version has a substantial blade with double-edged spearhead, Malaysian Salt wooden handle and a sleek pommel with crocodile motif. The sheath is equally impressive. It is finely made and decorated to complement the handle.

Kris Dagger, Cold Steel
The Philippine Islands are widely known for their vast array of edged weapons. There is a wide variety of styles Kris sword to choose from, as each island, region, or clan has its favorite, with some placing more emphasis on cutting, while others prefer styles more conducive to thrusting. The blades of the Kris Daggers Cold Steels are made of 1055 high-carbon steel with hard spring tempering. They are polished, satin, and fully sharpened. In profile, Kris blades feature a moderately wavy blade shape with three concave curves and a long, descending spearhead found on almost all Kris swords. This blade shape strikes a good balance between cutting power and thrust capacity. The base of the blades ends in traditional flanges decorated with "file cut", with the shorter ones protecting the finger and the longer ones protecting the thumbs and lower forearm.Classic straps emphasize strength and durability at the expense of fashion. Hand-carved from exotic wood from Sal, they are wrapped in wire and embellished with a brass cushion. Each Kris comes with an equally sturdy and practical sheath.Details:- Blade material: 1055 high carbon steel- Overall length: approx. 46.4 cm- Blade length: approx. 32.4 cm - Blade thickness: approx. 5 mm- Cable length: approx. 14 cm- Weight: approx. 518.8 g- Cold Steel® Product No.: CS-SW-KRISDAG

Pugio de Vindonissa with silver inlays
Last items in stock
Pugio de Vindonissa with silver inlays This beautiful, richly ornamented replica of a Roman dagger is an example of great craftsmanship. Both the riveted handle and the front cover of the sheath feature a very elaborate silver inlay. The wooden sheath is covered in leather, with four characteristic riveted brass suspension rings for a proper attachment to the belt. The blade has a total of four narrow fullers tapering towards the tip. The edges are not sharp. Our reproduction follows the model of an archaeological find from the Roman legionary camp of Vindonissa, today Windisch, Switzerland. The apple displays a trident, symbol of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. This may suggest that this Pugio was originally created for an officer in the Roman naval forces.
