Medieval Plate Sabatons, 14º c., 1.5 mm Steel, Pair
In the late Middle Ages and into the Renaissance, sabatons (also known as sollerets or solerets) were pieces of plate armor that covered the top and sides of the foot. They were commonly used by mounted knights to protect their feet against blows from enemy soldiers. The wearable articulated sabatons we offer here are based on examples from the 14th century. They are hand-forged from 1.5mm thick steel, blackened on the inside for better corrosion resistance, and fitted with riveted leather straps on the bottom. They have no sole and consist of a tapered but slightly rounded toe box, several hinged or lame bands, an ankle plate, a "tongue" plate, and a heel cap, all connected by sturdy rivets.Equally suitable for historical reenactment or LARP, this articulated foot armor is ideal for late medieval settings and will make your portrait of a proud knight perfect!Sold as a pair.A version of the same sabatons with a pointed toe is also available in our store (product no. 1064000058).Details:- Material: 1.5mm steel, strips- Total length: approx. 34 cm (suitable for a shoe size of approx. 44 to 47 - EU)- Height at the back: approx. 10 cm - Width at widest point: approx. 12 cm- Opening dimensions: approx. 12 x 10 cm- Weight (pair): approx. 2.1 kgSpecifications may vary slightly from part to part.To make sure these sabatons are right for you, remember to take your measurements with the shoes you plan to wear underneath! The steel used here is not rust-proof and may have slight surface stains in places. Medieval Glove Gauntlets, 15°-16° C., 1.6mm Steel, Pair, Hand Plate Armor
Material: approx. 1.6mm steel, brass rivets, black suede gloves,Leather straps and pads One size (large)- External dimensions (HxB - without suede gloves): approx. 35 x 12 cm- Inner glove dimensions: approx. 34 x 11 cm (approximately corresponds to glove size 9)- Internal circumference at the wrist: approx. 30 cm- Inner diameter at wrist: approx. 9 cm- Weight (pair): approx. 2700 gLooking for a sturdy, high-quality hand armor that won't break your budget? Well, you've come to the right place! These beautiful plate armor gauntlets offer great value for money. In the late Middle Ages and Renaissance, plated gauntlets were an essential part of armor, protecting the hands and wrists both on the battlefield and during jousting tournaments. The battle gauntlets that we offer here as a pair are also known as glove gauntlets, half-gauntlets, Semi-gauntlets or semi-gauntlets. These fingerless, "glove" style gauntlets, worn with gloves underneath, are designed to protect the wrist, back of the hand, base of the fingers, and full thumb. They did not offer the same protection as fully coated gauntlets, but allowed full use of the fingers. This particular type is an Old Maximilian style, called Schott-Sonnenberg. Maximilian's armor was developed as an alternative to Gothic armor, which was also popular at the same time. It takes its name from Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor from 1493 to 1519, and was used in Germany in the last years of the 15th century and the first quarter of the 16th century. The Schott-Sonnenberg type was a brief transitional style that lacked the decorative fluting that adorned the later style, the classical Maximilian armor. Our Maximilian gauntlets are handmade from approximately 1.6 mm thick steel (slight variations in steel thickness may occur due to the manufacturing process). The interior is blackened for better corrosion resistance. For adequate freedom of movement, the back of the hand, thumb and wrist are composed of sliding or lame plates hinged on sturdy, decorative brass rivets. The base of the forearm is protected by a long, pointed cuff, which is also adorned with brass rivets. The lower edge of the cuff and the upper edge of the upper limp are curled. These dish gloves not only offer an authentic look and flexibility, but also comfort of use. This is ensured by integrated gloves made of soft but sturdy suede that are firmly riveted at the thumb. Each thumb is also equipped with an additional stitched leather pad. Two riveted straps made of robust leather approx. 3 mm thick are attached to each glove on the inside, providing a secure hold .Suitable for light combat reenactment/stage fighting, this pair of fully usable steel gauntlets is best suited for me late dieval scenarios and ideal for completing the armor of a European knight. Our handmade articulated glove gauntlets not only impress with their combination of safety, mobility and comfort, but are also simply a real eye-catcher. And they're affordable, too! So, take your chance today and order this beautiful piece of history that will add the finishing touch to your medieval knight's armor! The steel used here is not rust-proof and may have slight surface stains in places. We recommend that you regularly maintain the plate handles, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideal for steel care.Specifications may vary slightly from part to part.

It is an ideal choice for those who want to complete their knight's armor with a detailed, high-quality, and affordable piece of armor. The bevor was an essential part of medieval armor. Usually made of a single piece of plate armor, it protected the chin and throat and filled the gap between the helmet and the breastplate. Originally Bevor was used in combination with a sallet. As the sallet evolved into the closed helmet and burgonet, the bevor also developed into a hinged plate that protected the lower face and throat. This fully wearable reconstruction of a late medieval bevor is made of 1.2mm steel and blackened on the inside for better corrosion resistance. The bevor, also known as the beaver, features the multi-part construction typical of 15th- and 16th-century Gothic plate armor. While the gorget and chin piece are fixedly riveted to each other, the top plate is fixed with hinges and can be raised or lowered. When upwards, it reaches below the eyes. A small retractable pin, on the right side of the chin section, holds the folding thigh firmly in place. It is reinforced at the top edge and features a row of round cutouts that ensure proper ventilation. The rolled edge is adorned with grooves. A braided bead at the bottom edge allows the bevor to be securely attached to a gambeson or plate armor. The bevor is open at the back (no neck plate) and equipped with a sturdy, riveted leather strap and brass buckle. The strap is adjustable in size to ensure a comfortable and personalized fit.The collar is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance settings. The jambs (sometimes spelled pouldrons or powldrons) show the typical multi-layered appearance of Gothic plate armor from the late Middle Ages (15th/16th century). They consist of five parts – a dome-shaped or policeman-shaped shoulder piece, an upper or thigh sliding plate, and three lower thighs, all connected by sturdy rivets on the inside. Each shoulder pad is equipped with an approximately 2 mm thick adjustable leather strap with brass buckle for a comfortable and personalized arm-length fit. The buckle positioned on the top edge allows for proper attachment to other pieces of plate armor (a gorget, a bevor, a breastplate - for example, our item no. 1016633700) or a gambeson. The edges of the backrests are adorned with grooves and small steel rivets, and the inside of the armor is blackened for better corrosion resistance. This shoulder armor is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance environments. Equally suitable for the portrayal of a wide range of historical figures and fictional/fantasy characters, it will make your transformation into a proud and noble knight or warrior perfect, whether used for medieval reenactment, LARP, stage, TV/film, fantasy or cosplay.Shoulder pads are sold as a pair.Details:- Material: 1.2mm (18 ga) steel plate, brown leather straps, bucklesaged brass - Total length: approx. 34 cm- Shoulder width: approx. 23 cm- Arm width: approx. 14 cm- Weight (pair): approx. 1.9 kgSpecifications may vary slightly from part to part.Delivery includes only the shoulder pads! We recommend that you maintain plate armor regularly, for example by using the universal Ballistol oil, which is ideal for steel care.
