The coat of arms on them (also called Surcoat or Surcot) appeared in the 12th century and was worn by the knights over their armor or mesh dimension on the battlefield. With the colors and the cross made it clear in the battle fight who was a friend and who was the enemy.
This calf-length tabarde for children is made entirely of strong cotton. It is cut straight and with lateral slit up to the waist. The front and back are also provided with a slightly shorter slit in the middle. The classic Johanniter cross is stamped on the chest.
