A beautiful reproduction of the famous sword was supposedly carried by the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. at the Battle of Guinegate in 1513.
Due to the fact that the French cavalry invaded the battlefield in total confusion, this battle is also known as the Battle of the Sporas.

Sword Sir William Marshall with sheath
The original of this beautiful reconstruction was once wielded by one of the most notable English knights, Sir William Marshal, first Earl of Pembroke, who faithfully and undecorously served the British crown under Henry II, Richard the Lionheart and John Lackland. The sword is now kept in a British museum.
