This calf-length tabard is perfect and complete for the cotton fabric (canvas) festival. The body part is cut straight to the waist and wide and slit at the skirt part. The checkerboard-shaped color division (MiParti) and the applied paw crosses give this weapon outfit its individual look.

The tabard (as above all, tappert or surcot) appeared in the twelfth century and was worn by knights over armour or chain armour. It protected the user from sunlight on the battlefield and the different color combinations made it clear in the middle of battle who was an enemy and who was a friend. Tabards were used by many crusaders to identify themselves as crusaders.

There are numerous depictions of medieval robes, for example in the Maciejowski Bible (also Crusader Bible), a medieval illustrated Bible from the thirteenth century, and in the Codex Manesse, a song manuscript from the early fourteenth century.

The simple and straight cut is typical of the tunic. To give the waist to the tunic, we recommend combining it with a leather belt.

Tenth Century Viking Varangian Rus Slavic Gnezdovo Helmet 16th Gauge
Our reproduction is directly inspired by an original found in a tenth-century Slavic-Varghian settlement called Gnezdovo or Gnyozdovo, near Smolensk, in present-day Russia. Many typical Scandinavian objects have been found simultaneously with this helmet, making it a good choice for those who want to recreate a Viking/Varangian/Russian/East Slavic character. However, this helmet may not be suitable if it depicts a western Viking invading England.
This helmet is HANDMADE from 1.6mm mild steel (16 gauge) and lined with an adjustable genuine leather lining. From it hangs a riveted chain mail that protects the lower part of the face. An approximate circumference of 68 cm (unlined) (65 cm with liner) allows it to fit most head circumferences from about 58 cm to 61-62 cm, depending on the shape of the user's head. (If you want to wear an extra padded hat, measure the circumference of your head while wearing it.) A genuine leather chin strap, with solid brass buckle, keeps it in place battle after battle. It has a height of about 25.5 cm (without an aventail), the inner width at the level of the ears is about 21 cm, and the inner depth from front to back at eye level is about 24.5 cm. It weighs about 4 kg and 12 grams.
Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can be easily cleaned with any degreasing product or even with a dry cloth.

This beautiful one-handed sword is a replica of one of the best-preserved medieval swords. The original was owned for some time by E.A. Christensen, a well-known Danish sword collector. His drawings of the medieval sword were featured in the book "Gammelt Jern" published by A.B. Hoffmeyer in 1968. It is classified as Type XIV according to the Oakeshott typology and dated to the period between 1275 and 1340. The location of the find of the original sword, now on display at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen, is unknown.The sword has a broad, double-edged blade that narrows toward the tip. Two deep fullers run almost the entire length of the blade and the cutting edges are not sharp.The quillons are slightly curved and the wooden handle wrapped in red leather ends in a K-type pommel with faceted edges. The center of the pommel is adorned with red circular accents on both sides.This sword comes complete with a red wood and leather scabbard equipped with a brass cover and a beautiful sword belt made of sturdy leather. The belt can be adjusted in various sizes thanks to the flower-shaped brass eyelets.Note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon.
