Manicae were part of the Roman gladiator's standard equipment. This arm protector is depicted in numerous images from the period. Take, for example, our second photo showing a mosaic in Zliten (Libya) from the 2nd century AD.
The guard covers the entire arm, from shoulder to hand. The Latin name "manica" means "long arm".
Our reproduction is robustly manufactured and suitable as gladiator equipment.
