This reproduction of a typical early 16th-century tights helmet with hinged visor (known as helmet or close closure) is made of 1.6 mm thick steel plate and therefore only suitable for a combat re-enactment.

It features a comfortable leather lining and a chin strap with buckle.

This replica follows the helmet of Sir Richard Pembridge's original, displayed at the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh. The "Great Helmet" was often worn on a smaller, lighter helmet (e.g., a secret helmet).

These helmets were common throughout Europe in the Middle Ages, and numerous contemporary, miniature and original images found in Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, etc. prove the popularity of this type of helmet. Replica fully ready for the battle of a medieval kettle hat. Kettle hats emerged in the 13th century and were very popular with cavalry until the 15th century. The kettle hat was a precursor to the sallet (Schaller) that was developed in the late 15®th century. The thickness of the material is about 2 mm, up to 6 mm in the overlaps. In the helmet cap four brackets overlap that are arranged very decoratively in the form of cross. The kettle hat consists of two steel strips of the face, to which the leather straps with buckle are riveted.
