Viking sword Vestre Berg (Oslo) with scabbard, Petersen O type, 10º C
This beautiful Viking Sword is based on an original sword that was part of the great tomb of Vestre Berg in Løiten/Løten, Norway. According to archaeological records, the grave was discovered in 1887 among some rocks during cleaning work. A distinctive feature of the original, dating back to the 10th century, is the blade, which was presumably ritually bent into an "S" shape. It is not known if this practice was intended to symbolically "kill" the sword before it was buried, or if the goal was to deter grave robbers. The sword, classified as Type O according to Petersen's Viking sword typology, is now in the collection of the Kulturhistorisk Museum (formerly Universitetets Oldsaksamling) in Oslo, Norway. The replica features a wide, double-edged blade with wide, fuller, non-sharp cutting edges. The cuff consists of a cuff wrapped in red leather, a short, slightly curved guard, and a generously sized five-lobed pommel. The bronze guard and pommel are engraved with the same patterns and motifs that adorn the original find. The sword comes complete with a red wood and leather scabbard equipped with a bronze throat and cape and a sword belt with bronze accessories.Note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to its collector's quality, it is also perfectly suited as an accessory, for example, to complete your costume.Details: - Blade material: High carbon steel- Rockwell Hardness: 48 – 52 HRC- Handle material: leather-coated wood, brass handle and guard- Overall length: approx. 94 cm- Blade length: approx. 78.5 cm- Blade thickness: approx. 4 mm- Handle length: approx. 15.5 cm (tightening approx. 10.5 cm)-Max. Sword of the Vendel Period of Gotland (Broa), 8th C., Bronze Fist
This beautiful sword from the Vendel Period is loosely based on a finely crafted artifact kept today in the History Museum (Historiska Museet) in Stockholm, Sweden (Item 120525, SHM 10796). The original piece, a gilded bronze sword hilt (see last photo), is a tomb found at Broa on the Swedish island of Gotland. Many finds attributed to the Vendel era (roughly lying between the Migration Period and the Viking Age in Swedish history) testify to the high quality of craftsmanship achievable in Scandinavia at the time.In terms of shape, this one-hander is a classic example of a Norse or Viking sword. The wide double-edged high-carbon steel blade is medium-length, with a broad fuller running the entire length of the blade and disappearing just before the point. The edges are not sharp, while the tip is pointed, and the full tang of the blade is threaded to the pommel. The gorgeous hilt of this one-handed sword is made of bronze, polished, and adorned with intricate motifs inspired by the original artifact. Since swords with all-bronze handles can tend to be heavy and a bit unbalanced, we opted for a hollow hilt to get around this issue. Our one-handed Vendel sword comes complete with a brown wooden and leather scabbard with wooden hanging loop (maximum belt width of 5.5cm) and brass throat and hat. Please note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, for example, to complete your outfit.

One side is marked with the well-known inscription of the manufacturer ULFBERHT, a Rhineland blacksmith's shop believed to be one of the earliest "marks" of swords (with about 170 swords dating from the 9th to the 11th c., with the same inscription +VLFBERHT+, and found throughout Europe, even in western Russia). The other side bears the inscription DUNE + DUNE XX, a supposed abbreviation, the exact meaning of which is still unknown. The replica offered here has a straight, double-edged blade with sharp edges, not sharp. Like the original find, the wide fill is engraved with the inscription VLFBERH+T on one side and DUNA + DUNE XX on the other. The handle consists of a short steel guard with rounded ends, and a wooden handle wrapped in brown leather, which ends in a "tea cozy" pommel made of steel. The sword comes complete with a brown wooden and leather scabbard with a steel plate and a wooden hanging loop (maximum belt width of 5 cm). Please note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon. Oakeshott XVI One-Handed Sword
The one-handed sword we offer here, classified as a Type XVI sword according to Oakeshott's typology, is an excellent example of a medieval sword that would have served at the beginning of the Hundred Years' War between England and France.Type XVI was mainly characterized by a broad, full blade, approximately 70 to 80 cm long with a flattened diamond cross-section and a broad, flat tang. The blade tapered steadily to a sharp point reinforced by a distinctive ridge. The fuller usually extended from the guard to one-half to two-thirds below the blade. Although there are some exceptions, the one-way handle usually featured a cross guard slightly bent toward the blade, and a wheel pommel (with or without beveled edges).Type XVI swords were particularly popular in the first half of the 14th century. Its emergence and spread coincided with the emergence of plate armor, which made it necessary to rethink blade designs. Since the chain had not yet gone out of fashion, the goal was to offer versatile swords that could effectively combine slashing and thrusting abilities and thus stand up to mixed-type armor. Although their sharp point and a rigid diamond cross-section were ideal for pushing into gaps and joints or piercing plate armature, they still remained capable of delivering powerful cuts and cuts. Our rebuild has a double-edged high-carbon steel blade that fills on both sides about two-thirds below its length. The edges are not sharp, while the tip is very sharp, and the full tang of the blade is skewered. The handle consists of a slightly curved steel transverse guard approximately 20.5 cm long, a wooden handle firmly tied in brown leather and a disc-shaped chamfered steel pommel with octagonal facets (Oakeshott Type I1, a popular variant in the 14th and 15th c.).The gorgeous wood-core sheath is covered in brown leather and comes complete with a carrying belt approximately 4 cm wide and 2 mm thick around it. The pre-drilled belt has a sufficient number of holes to be adjusted for a comfortable and personalized fit. Please note that this medieval sword is not a weapon ready for battle. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, for example, to complete your outfit.

Medieval Dress with Belt, Bliaut Konstanze, dark blue
This floor-length medieval dress has a loose fit and comes with a belt. The fine cotton fabric and the contrasting details of the cotton satin give this dress a particularly elegant look. The sleeves are also in a contrasting color on the inside and can be worn rolled up.

The cut of the dress is typical of Bliaut (or Bliaud) and is based on the fashion of the eleventh to thirteenth centuries. The bliaut was originally a noble and courtly outer garment made of light fabrics and with wide trumpet sleeves. This form of format made it clear to everyone that they came from a higher class, as they were inconvenient in everyday work. Over time, this style of dress also took hold among the bourgeoisie, but usually with narrow-cut sleeves or a knot tied at the hem of the sleeve. The Bliaut was not only worn by women, men also wore this outer garment, albeit at the knees.
Bliaut's features include wide sleeves, fine fabrics, and a wide skirt. The sleeves of the trumpet sometimes took on exaggerated shapes and sometimes reached all the way to the floor. Usually the bliaut was combined with a veil and a belt.

Depictions of a Bliaut of the time can be found, for example, in the fresco Sant'Elena in the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Milan and in the Hortus Deliciarum, an encyclopedic work from the late twelfth century.
