Medieval change dress Burglinde w. Trumpet sleeves, black
Medieval Shift Burglinde Dress with Trumpet Sleeves, BlackThis medieval loose-cut dress, length to the floor, is made of light cotton. The skirt piece is adjusted with lateral buds (wedge-shaped/triangular pieces of fabric), allowing for a generous opening. It has a wide neckline to be hidden under the outer piece at neck level. The sleeves feature a loop for individual adjustment. At first quite tight on the upper arm, they fall into a particularly wide enlargement that gives them their characteristic trumpet shape. This change can be worn under an overcoat, a cotehardie or a blaut.Outer clothing and chemises or shirts with substantially wide sleeves appeared around the twelfth century. They were not only used for fashion purposes, but also as a symbol of higher social status, as the wide sleeves were not suitable for the working classes. In the 12th/13th century, men and women wore plain shirts with trumpet sleeves as underwear to better preserve their increasingly fitted, often richly adorned outer garments. The change usually did not appear under the outer clothing as it would be considered inappropriate. Twelfth-century illustrations of wide sleeves can be found, among others, in the fresco showing Sant'Elena in the basilica of San Lorenzo in Milan or in the illuminated encyclopedia Hortus Peliciarum(circa 1180).In the 15th century, changes with trumpet sleeves could also be worn under a short-sleeved cotehardie (a tight dress or kirtle with loops or a button clasp in the center of the front) and therefore should be visible as an integral part of the garment. Historical illustrations of wide-sleeves from this period can be found, for example, in Gerard David's painting Madonna with Angels and Saints.Details:- Available sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL- Color: black (also available: blue, natural color)- Material: 100% cotton- Total length size M: approx. 150 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the lower sheath)- Care instructions: Machine wash at 40°C, gentle cycle, do not dry in the machine

Medieval Dress Gesine, Canvas, Green
This medieval floor-length dress with 3/4 long sleeves is made of sturdy cotton fabric (canvas) and slightly adjusted. The strong canvas fabric creates a sturdy, heavy dress that is therefore more suitable for spring and fall (or for winter, when combined with season-appropriate underwear).Contrasting edges of colors and filled cord make the dress really stand out from the crowd. It has partition seam just below the waist and pockets hidden in the side seams. The skirt part has a wide flare and is made without gores (wedge-shaped pieces of fabric).Following the fashion of the early Middle Ages, this outer garment is quite loose and shows only a little of the waist. Therefore, we recommend that you combine it with a leather belt. This dress is ideal for depicting women of the lower and middle classes from the early to the high Middle Ages, and historically fits – among others – into the era of the Franks, Slavs and Vikings.

Simple Medieval Dress Afra, Canvas, Dark Blue
This loose-cut medieval dress is made of strong canvas (100% cotton) and therefore very sturdy. All hems are lined with flat fabric. The sewn skirt piece features partition seams that make it wider and fit well. Side folds/darts positioned at chest level provide an optimal fit. The dress up to the floor can also serve as an outerwear or a sweater. With its sturdy structure, the medieval dress is particularly suitable for portraying women of ordinary lifestyles. Just like jeans, the fabric will look individual "worn" over time. And as it is a little thicker, the dress is ideal for the transitional seasons (spring / autumn). Pair it with a Viking apron dress/overdress (smokkr) or just a simple apron and you'll have a good basic outfit that can be animated at will with season-appropriate accessories. This type of baggy dress, also called cotte, was a basic piece of clothing worn by both sexes (as an underwear or underwear) throughout the Middle Ages. The female cotte was always floor-length and long-sleeved, and was often combined with an overcoat and a belt.

Meira Medieval Dress with Velvet Details, Black
Meira Medieval Dress with Velvet Details, Black
This floor-length dress has a loose cut and is individually adjusted to the body by means of loops at the waist and back. The bottom of the sleeves also has loop and can be adjusted.
The details adorned with cotton velvet such as the hem, the shoulder strap and the turtleneck give the dress an imposing character. The skirt part is wide and swings beautifully due to the wide velvet hem.
This medieval dress with cords is versatile and offers an excellent base for building a costume from medieval to Gothic to LARP.
Velvet emerged in the fourteenth century in the Mediterranean region and was woven mainly in Italy. The elaborate way it was made and also the fact that this fabric was mostly made of silk made the velvet robes exclusive pieces. Velvet was very popular in Burgundy fashion and during the Renaissance.
Details:- Available sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL- Color: black- Material: 100% cotton- Total length at size M: approx. 150 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder)
Care instructions:Cotton velvet should not be placed in the washing machine, as the velvet will wrinkle irrevocably. Velvet should also not be ironed, as this will cause the hair to lose depth. We recommend brushing light stains with a clothes brush in the direction of the pile. For thicker stains, we recommend taking the dress to the laundry.

Medieval dress, Bliaut Amal open, brown
Medieval Dress, Open Bliaut Amal, BrownThis long, waisted medieval dress is made of cotton fabric. The side seams are open from the hip to the upper arm and feature shoelaces for individual adjustment. The Church did not approve in any way of these side openings that partially revealed the underwear, which explains why they are also called gates of hell . The tie cords are equipped with metal tips to facilitate passage through the sewn eyelets. The so-called Gores (wedge-shaped pieces of fabric) inserted into the side seams and the front and back panels of the skirt give the dress a generous sheen. The wide trumpet sleeves and decorative stitching on the sleeve hem and open side seams give the dress a noble finishing touch. The cut of the dress is typical of the so-called bliaut (or bliaud) and follows the fashion of the eleventh to thirteenth centuries. Although women's clothing had been cut rather loosely and hiding the figure until then, this era saw the emergence of increasingly tight clothing. The Bliaut was initially an outer dress of the court, as the wide sleeves were not suitable for the working classes. Over time, this type of dress also gained popularity among the middle class, but it was more commonly equipped with straight-cut sleeves. It was not only worn by women, but also by men - in this case, as a knee-length outer garment.
The Bliaut was notably characterized by waist-high side openings and trumpet sleeves. Although the Hell's gates at first looked like a wider cut and slightly large cavities, they gradually became larger over time, until they finally extended to the hips. The trumpet sleeves could also take on extreme shapes, sometimes reaching the floor. The Bliaut used to be combined with a shirt or shirt, a veil and a narrow belt.Historical illustrations of bliauts can be found, among others, in the fresco showing Sant'Elena in the basilica of San Lorenzo in Milan or in the Hortus Deliciarum, from the late twelfth century. encyclopedic compendium.Details:- Available sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL- Color: brown (also available: red/black, blue/natural color)- Material: 100% cotton- Total length size M: approx. 145 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the lower sheath)- Care instructions: Machine wash at 40°C, gentle cycle, do not dry in dryer. Medieval Cotehardie Ava dress, red wine
This dress or kirtleMedieval long and waist is made of sturdy cotton fabric (canvas). The skirt is equipped with so-called gores (wedge-shaped/triangular pieces of fabric) that give it a generous enlargement, and the upper part features a front center loop in thick cotton for individual adjustment. The ends of the tie cord are equipped with metal tips that allow you to easily pass through the sewn eyelets. While we're aware that shoelaces require a lot more time than a zipper to get dressed in, we deliberately opted for a lace clasp to keep the look of the dress as authentic as possible. The cut of this dress is based on medieval illustrations from the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries. Although women's clothing had been cut rather loosely and hiding the figure until then, this era saw the emergence of increasingly tight clothing. Or Cotehardie, which evolved from the loose French Cotte and roughly translates as bold cotte, probably owes its name to its bold and fair nature. A typical kirtle or cotehardie usually featured loops or button clasp in the center of the front. The introduction of shoelaces and buttons as functional clasps (rather than purely ornamental items) was actually what made possible, in the first place, fashion tailored and adjusted to the body. Another distinctive feature of these dresses was the wide neckline, which seemed to get lower and lower with time and was particularly popular with women during the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The cotehardie used to be combined with a shirt or shirt, a veil and a narrow belt. The short-sleeved variant was also often used with removable and interchangeable pin-on sleeves.Historical illustrations of the fifteenth century. kirtles can be found, among others, on the June calendar page of the Duke of Berry's Book of Hours, a French illuminated manuscript (original title: Les Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry), or in the Book of Simple Medicines (Woman and Unicorn) illustrated by Robinet Testard.Details:- Available sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL- Color: wine red (also available: brown)- Material: 100% cotton- Total length size M: approx. 145 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the lower sheath)- Care instructions: Machine wash at 40°C, gentle cycle, do not dry in dryer. Medieval Dress with Belt, Bliaut Konstanze, dark blue
This floor-length medieval dress has a loose cut and comes with a belt. The fine cotton fabric and contrasting cotton satin details give this dress a particularly elegant look. The sleeves are also in a contrasting color on the inside and can be worn rolled up.

The cut of the dress is typical of Bliaut (or Bliaud) and is based on the fashion of the eleventh to the thirteenth centuries. The bliaut was originally a noble and courteous outer garment made of light fabrics and with wide trumpet sleeves. This form of format made it clear to everyone that they came from a higher class, as they were inconvenient in everyday work. Over time, this style of dress also became consolidated among the bourgeoisie, but usually with narrow-cut sleeves or knots tied at the hem of the sleeve. The Bliaut was not only worn by women, men also wore this outer garment, albeit at knee height.
Bliaut features include wide sleeves, thin fabrics and a wide skirt. The trumpet sleeves sometimes took on exaggerated shapes and sometimes reached all the way to the floor. Usually the bliaut was combined with a veil and a belt.

Depictions of a Bliaut of the time can be found, for example, in the Sant'Elena fresco of the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Milan and in the Hortus Deliciarum, an encyclopedic work from the late twelfth century.

Over time, this style of dress also became consolidated among the bourgeoisie, but usually with narrow-cut sleeves or knots at the hem of the long sleeve.
