Medieval cap, headscarf, natural color
Cap, Medieval scarf, natural colorThis piece of rectangular fabric is made of plain cotton fabric and features rolled-up hems. Can be tied as a call cap (wrap instruction) or as a headscarf for medieval reconstruction, but it is also versatile in modern everyday life. It can be worn as an elegant hair band, a turban, a shawl over the shoulders or a scarf elegantly wrapped around the neck. In the Middle Ages, married women were expected to wear a headdress (hence the German expression unter die Haube kommen)., which literally translates as "getting under the hood" and is still a common idiom for "getting married"). In medieval times, there were many different ways for women to cover their heads, for example, with a smooth veil or with ruffles/goffered (with or without a tip on the neck), a cap, a cap, a barb and fillet, a scapular (a hoop/garland decorated in the shape of a crown, often worn in combination with a veil) or a cap. There were several methods for tying a cap, but it was usually tied to the forehead, chin, and back of the head and always hid the hair. Historical illustrations of caps can be found, for example, in the Weltchronik - Der Stricker - Karl der Große (engl. World Chronicle -The Knitter - Charlemagne ), a manuscript on illuminated parchment written by Rudolf von Ems around 1300, or in the Morgan Bible (also known as the Maciejowski Bible or the Crusader Bible ), a thirteenth-century illustrated Bible.Details:- One-size-fits-all - approx. 180 x 50 cm- Color: natural- Material: 100% cotton- Care instructions: Machine wash at 40°C, gentle cycle, do not machine dryPlease note: Delivery includes cloth only! Medieval Gudrun dress, blue-grey/brown
Medieval Gudrun dress, blue-grey/brownThis loose-cut dress has slightly wide 3/4 sleeves and so-called gores on the sides, extending from the waist to the hem. Gores, wedge-shaped/triangular pieces of fabric added to expand the shape of a garment, gave the medieval clothes a generous touch. It is conceived as an outer garment of the early Middle Ages, as clearly shown by the contrasting details of colors (its most notable feature). The collar has button closure and slit in the center of the back. The dress is made of plain cotton fabric and is best worn with a leather belt. The appearance and cut of this dress are based on archaeological finds (sixth century woman's tomb find in Asseln, Dortmund district, Germany) and medieval illustrations (ninth century. Stuttgart Psalter). The costume of the early Middle Ages was characterized by long coats, simple patterns consisting mainly of stitched rectangles and contrasting color details. The dress is therefore ideal for depicting Vikings, Lombards, Merovingians and Franks.Details:- Available sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL- Color: blue-gray/brown (also available: blue/red, red/blue)- Material: 100% cotton- Length total size M: approx. 142 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the lower sheath)- Care instructions: Machine wash at 40°C, delicate cycle, do not dry in dryer

Cotton Viking tunic, dark red
In ancient times, tunics were worn mainly on the skin as underwear. But by the early Middle Ages, its use had changed and the tunics became a common piece of outerwear. The preserved fragments are few, but many contemporary illustrations, such as the Bayeaux Tapestry or illuminated miniatures/manuscripts, provided evidence of what medieval garments looked like and how they were generally worn.
