Lorica Roman segmentata
Last items in stock
Very authentic reconstruction of the Roman armor Lorica Segmentata, type Newstead

The Lorica Segmentata has been used by the Roman Legion for over 200 years.
The first findings were in Kalkriese, Germany, and should come from the year
9 anno Domini.

The Newstead type is named after a village in southern Scotland, where the Roman fort
Trimontium has been located. The remains of this camp set an example for our reconstruction.

In the original, these plate armors were used between 130 and 280 AD. It's the latest version
of the armor worn by the Roman legionaries. In later times, they wore knitted shirts
like Lorica Hamata again.
