German Helm, ca. 1480 AD, battle-ready helmet
– Ready for battle –In the fifteenth century, the combat helmet known as the sallet replaced the bascinete, and by the middle of the century, it had become one of the most widely used helmets throughout Europe. This type of helmet could be found in many different shapes and variations – from simple to elaborate, open or with a visor, with a more or less pronounced tailpiece, etc. – and was especially popular in Italy (Celata), Germany (Schaller), France (Salad) and England. In the early Renaissance, this medieval helmet eventually evolved into the 16th century. burnet.This authentic, fully battle-ready reconstruction of a German sallet manufactured around 1480 AD is made of 2mm steel and features a protruding neck protector and a slight crest or crest along its apex. The laminated edge is adorned with grooves, and the rectangular edge is adorned with approx. The 1 to 1.5 cm wide and 14 cm long eye slit with extended lower lip ensures sufficient vision while allowing adequate ventilation.The interior is blacked out for better corrosion resistance and equipped with an adjustable quilted black fabric lining secured with rivets. The sturdy chin strap made of 2 mm thick brown leather closes with an antique brass buckle. This late medieval helmet is available in two sizes (M and L).
