Well, it looks like your search is over! This rugged handmade helmet, based on a historic piece, offers great value for money. Plus, its authentic appearance and elegant simplicity are sure to turn heads! The barbute or barbuta, a specialized form of the celata or sallet, is derived from the earlier bascinet. This helmet without a visor of Italian origin was most popular in northern Italy in the 14th and 15th centuries, but it was also used throughout Europe. The barbute offered good protection for the head and face without excessively restricting vision and breathing. The rounded bowl of the helmet covered the head and neck almost completely, and often featured an upper crest or low crest that ran from the forehead to the nape of the neck. A defining feature of this type of helmet was the forward extension from the sides towards the front, which protected the sides of the wearer's face below the eyes. Another main distinguishing feature was the T- or Y-shaped opening of the face. The authentic, battle-ready SPQR reconstruction we offer here is based on the helmet of the famous Milanese Avant armour  that is on display for people to admire at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, Scotland. This late medieval armor, one of the oldest almost fully preserved armor of its kind in Europe, is dated to about 1440-1445. It was created in Milan (one of the most productive cities for the manufacture of armor and weapons of the European Middle Ages) for a member of the noble von Matsch family of the Castle of Churburg (Castel Chur) in South Tyrol, Italy. Our barbute with T-shaped opening and center ridge from front to back is handmade with approx. 2 mm steel. The opening and bottom edge are reinforced and the interior is blackened for better corrosion resistance. The riveted suspension lining made of leather ensures a comfortable fit and good wearing comfort, and the sturdy, adjustable chin strap with historic brass buckle provides a secure hold.Suitable for combat reenactment, LARP, stage or TV/film, this slim, fully wearable knight helmet is best suited for late medieval scenarios and ideal for completing a European warrior's armour. Of course, our T-faced barbute not only impresses with its combination of authenticity, safety and comfort, but is also a real eye-catcher that will make a great decorative addition to any helmet collector's treasure chamber.Top-notch quality at an unbeatable price – Do you want to treat yourself to a good-value piece of history that will add the finishing touch to your medieval knight's armor without breaking your budget? So take the chance and order this top-class helmet today! The steel used here is not rust-proof and may have slight surface stains in places. We recommend that you regularly maintain helmets, for example by using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideal for steel care. Specifications may vary slightly from part to part.

Fourteenth-century Brigandina of Kusnacht
Last items in stock
This gorgeous fourteenth-century bandit is directly inspired by the famous Kusnacht bandit found in a castle in Switzerland. He is one of the best-known bandits of the fourteenth century and also one of the most popular of today, both in medieval tournaments and battlefields and in Behourd and jousting.
And there's no doubt why, because the intelligent design of the original that we directly emulated offers an extremely high level of protection and maximum mobility. All the plates overlap, allowing the brigandine to spread any impact on the fighter's torso efficiently, as each plate hit by an impact is actually superimposed on other plates, actually allowing the diffusion of any blow, and allows for incredible mobility at the same time; Even kicking this type of brigandine high is totally possible! You really appreciate the great range of motion that overlapping chest plates allow. Even using a long sword or rod gun will be a real pleasure with this type of equipment
