Roman Legionary This is a reconstruction of a typical Roman cingulate (cingulum militare) used by legionaries during the 1st century AD. The belt is made of sturdy light brown leather and adorned with fine brass fittings.

The piece of Roman military equipment known as the military cingulum was a leather belt adorned with ornamental metal plates and often equipped with frogs (suspension supports) for the soldier's dagger. This war belt was not only used to hold the warrior's braccae (pants) during battle, but was also a display of rank or military honors.
The cingules were usually completed by a leather apron composed of several flat straps (called pteryges or pteruges) hanging from the waist and decorated with continuous rows of riveted metal hardware. Each strip finished with metal pendants (pensilia).
This reproduction of the cingulate or balteus of a Roman legionnaire is richly adorned with tin-clad brass accessories. The buckle with hinges, riveted plates and medallions, pugio toads with hinges and pendants are all based on original historical finds from the Mainz area, Germany. The original artifacts are dating from the 1st century AD.
The belt is made of sturdy 2 mm leather and has a second suede lining to protect the wearer's tunic from rivets that retain the decorative plates. It has holes and is adjustable to a wide variety of sizes. A leather cord to tie and attach a dagger to the twin rollers (pugio frogs) is included in the delivery.
The apron is made of matching leather (without lining). Each strap has an integrated loop, so it can be slid to the belt or removed at will.

When ordering a single item, the postage has a fixed value of €30, prices only for Mainland Portugal and Islands and Peninsular Spain. You must always indicate a telephone contact number to avoid non-receipt of your order.
National orders are shipped using transport systems appropriate to the size and weight of the goods. Some goods may require additional transport costs, either due to their size, weight or specificity. All transport costs will be communicated in writing to the buyer for approval, after which the order will be shipped.

Orders are generally shipped within 2 to 12 working days depending on the items chosen through CTT or Transport Agency after receipt of payment.

Due to the specificity of the items sold by Loja Rei das Espadas, returns are only accepted under the following circumstances:
- The product sent is damaged by proven manufacturing defect.
- The characteristics of the product sent do not correspond to those described in the Online-Store
All items are shipped in perfect condition. If you receive any damaged item and that is justified, you can return it. We will send an identical article in good condition. You can request a return by email. The customer has 14 days to return the item.
Returns of products subject to special, personalized or made-to-measure orders are not accepted.

- We recommend sending the product by an insured carrier. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused to the product during transport.
