Baldur's Sword, Windlass
In the pantheon of Norse deities, Baldur was the son of Odin and Frigg (i.e. brother of Thor and Loki) and as such was destined to reign after Odin. Beloved by all the gods except Loki, Baldur is known for providing joy to all those who spend time with him. In Old Norse poetry, Baldur's death is described as a tragedy and a foreshadowing of Ragnarök.
In honor of the lesser-known brother, this classic Viking sword was designed as a tribute to Asgard's most beautiful limb. The leather hilt of this sword is laser-engraved with the three runes that Windlass believes best suit the Norse god. Some scholars believe that the name Baldur means "bold," which is why the rune of courage was added. In his attempt to protect Baldur from danger, Frigg asked everyone to swear never to hurt him (except the mistletoe), so the protection rune was also added. Finally, Baldur was also known to always be prepared for battle, and so the rune of strength completes the arrangement.
The blade is engraved with runes that roughly translates as the spelling of "Baldur". The leather hem (with integrated belt) is covered by a layer of black suede, which is adorned with a high-quality leather upper and collar. A Viking symbol for the sun is depicted on the head and throat, as Baldur was known to all who knew him as a shining light.
Includes matching wooden hem with suede cover.

Please note that this sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to the collector's quality, it is also perfectly suited as an accessory, for example, to complete your fantasy.

The reconstruction we offer here has a 1060 carbon steel tempered straight double-edged with wide, long and non-sharp edges. The engravings are reproductions of the markings found on the original blade.
The handle consists of a short brass guard, a wooden handle firmly tied in brown leather and a generously sized brass pommel. Here, too, the guard and the pommel recreate closely the pattern that adorns the original artifact. In this case, the guard and the pommel are hollow and perforated to facilitate the threading of wire shaves.
Like many historical examples of the time, the sword apple is a two-part construction: the complete ear of the blade is anchored to the lower section and the pomus cover is attached to the base by means of two rivets. Both components of the pommel are visually separated by a braided wire tied on one side. Between the three segments of the lid, there are also recesses encrusted with braided wire.
This one-hand sword from the early Middle Ages comes complete with a tight wooden hem and brown leather with aged brass throat, chap and belt dowel (maximum belt width of 6 cm).
Note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as an accessory, for example, to complete your costume.
