Long sword with defense ring, 19th century. XV, incl. Sheath
This good-value two-handed sword is a beautiful example of a long sword from the late European Middle Ages and early Renaissance. Although not a replica of an original historical piece, it shows some of the typical features of the two-handed swords wielded by 15th-century Gothic knights in full armor.
This type of long ring-handle sword is differentiated from others of the same period by its side rings placed on both sides of the crossguard (which eventually led to the development of more complex cuff designs). On the battlefields and medieval tournaments, these rings offered much greater protection to the hands without greatly increasing the total weight of the weapon.
The long, wide, double-edged blade of the medieval sword we offer here funnels only slightly towards the tip. It is forged in EN45 spring steel and has several fullers on each side (a main fuller framed by two shorts - a feature common to many Oakeshott Type XX swords). The edges are not sharpened and the complete blade spike is screwed to the pommel.
The cruciform handle sports a generously sized inverted perfume stopper pommel and approx. 19 cm long platter, slightly curved down, with D-shaped protective rings, all made of steel. The handle consists of a wooden core with leather and steel coating: while the first half adjacent to the guard is bound in black leather, the rest of the handle is wrapped with twisted steel wire.
This medieval two-handed knight sword comes complete with a black wooden and leather hem with steel neck, chape, intermediate band and hinged hanging rings.
Please note that this sword is not a weapon ready for battle. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as prop, for example, to complete your disguise.

Orders are generally shipped within 2 to 12 working days depending on the items chosen through CTT or Transport Agency after receipt of payment.

Due to the specificity of the items sold by Loja Rei das Espadas, returns are only accepted under the following circumstances:
- The product sent is damaged by proven manufacturing defect.
- The characteristics of the product sent do not correspond to those described in the Online-Store
All items are shipped in perfect condition. If you receive any damaged item and that is justified, you can return it. We will send an identical article in good condition. You can request a return by email. The customer has 14 days to return the item.
Returns of products subject to special, personalized or made-to-measure orders are not accepted.

- We recommend sending the product by an insured carrier. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused to the product during transport.
