This elegant medieval belt bears the name of St. George (George of Lida), a Roman officer of Greek origin who served in the Praetorian Guard for Emperor Diocletian and was executed in 303 AD for refusing to renounce his Christian faith. Canonized as a saint in 494 AD, his veneration as great martyr spread throughout the Middle East and Europe over the centuries. At the time of the Crusades (c. 11/12), Saint George had become one of the most beloved military saints. He was praised as a model of chivalry, and the myths and legends surrounding his life and achievements (most popular - the legend of St. George and the Dragon) continued to be passed down from generation to generation in the Middle Ages. Tall and late medieval representations of him - often depicted riding a white horse - are countless.
The 4 cm wide belt is made of sturdy leather with 2 mm thickness. It is equipped with a large buckle with the famous medieval iconography of St. George on his horse killing the dragon with his spear. The belt is adorned with a series of alternating heraldic eagles and stylized lis flowers. All accessories are made of brass.
The belt is approx. 135 cm long and has no holes. The back of the buckle is equipped with a pin that attaches to the hole in the end end end. The tip comes disassembled and must be installed by the client (hardware is included). This allows the user, if necessary, to adjust (cut) the belt for a comfortable and personalized fit before mounting the tip. Alternatively, the belt can be drilled to accommodate the back pin, or only used with a "knot" in true medieval style.
This leather belt is best suited for settings of the high and late Middle Ages and particularly suitable for the representation of a knight or nobleman of the thirteenth or fourteenth centuries.

When ordering a single item, the postage has a fixed value of €30, prices only for Mainland Portugal and Islands and Peninsular Spain. You must always indicate a telephone contact number to avoid non-receipt of your order.
National orders are shipped using transport systems appropriate to the size and weight of the goods. Some goods may require additional transport costs, either due to their size, weight or specificity. Orders are generally shipped within 2 to 12 working days depending on the items chosen through CTT or Transport Agency after receipt of payment.

Due to the specificity of the items sold by Loja Rei das Espadas, returns are only accepted under the following circumstances:
- The product sent is damaged by proven manufacturing defect.
- The characteristics of the product sent do not correspond to those described in the Online-Store
All items are shipped in perfect condition. If you receive any damaged item and that is justified, you can return it. We will send an identical article in good condition. You can request a return by email. The customer has 14 days to return the item.
Returns of products subject to special, personalized or made-to-measure orders are not accepted.
