Baldur's Sword, Windlass
In the pantheon of Norse deities, Baldur was the son of Odin and Frigg (i.e. brother of Thor and Loki) and as such was destined to reign after Odin. Beloved by all the gods except Loki, Baldur is known for providing joy to all those who spend time with him. In Old Norse poetry, Baldur's death is described as a tragedy and a foreshadowing of Ragnarök.In honor of the lesser-known brother, this classic Viking sword was designed as a tribute to Asgard's most beautiful limb. The leather hilt of this sword is laser-engraved with the three runes that Windlass believes best suit the Norse god. Some scholars believe that the name Baldur means "bold," which is why the rune of courage was added. In his attempt to protect Baldur from danger, Frigg asked everyone to swear never to hurt him (except the mistletoe), so the protection rune was also added. Finally, Baldur was also known to always be prepared for battle, and so the rune of strength completes the arrangement. The blade is engraved with runes that roughly translates as the spelling of "Baldur". The leather hem (with integrated belt) is covered by a layer of black suede, which is adorned with a high-quality leather upper and collar. A Viking symbol for the sun is depicted on the head and throat, as Baldur was known to all who knew him as a shining light.Includes matching wooden hem with suede cover.Manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts. Please note that this sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to the collector's quality, it is also perfectly suited as an accessory, for example, to complete your fantasy.Details:- Blade material: 1065 high carbon steel- Overall length: approx. 95 cm- Blade length: approx. 79 cm- Blade thickness: approx. 4 mm- Cable length: approx. 10 cm / full handle approx. 16 cm-Max. Dune Dune Viking Sword with Scabbard, 10º C
This beautiful Viking sword is a reconstruction of an original find dated to the period between 950 and 1050, and is classified as an X type according to Petersen's typology of Viking swords. The inscriptions on the blade are a distinguishing feature of the original sword, which is now in the collection of the Musée de l'Armée in Paris, France. One side is marked with the well-known inscription of the manufacturer ULFBERHT, a Rhineland blacksmith's shop believed to be one of the earliest "marks" of swords (with about 170 swords dating from the 9th to the 11th c., with the same inscription +VLFBERHT+, and found throughout Europe, even in western Russia). The other side bears the inscription DUNE + DUNE XX, a supposed abbreviation, the exact meaning of which is still unknown. The replica offered here has a straight, double-edged blade with sharp edges, not sharp. Like the original find, the wide fill is engraved with the inscription VLFBERH+T on one side and DUNA + DUNE XX on the other. The handle consists of a short steel guard with rounded ends, and a wooden handle wrapped in brown leather, which ends in a "tea cozy" pommel made of steel. The sword comes complete with a brown wooden and leather scabbard with a steel plate and a wooden hanging loop (maximum belt width of 5 cm). Please note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat re-enactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, for example, to complete your outfit.

Sword of the Vendel Period of Gotland (Broa), 8th C., Bronze Fist
This beautiful sword from the Vendel Period is loosely based on a finely crafted artifact kept today in the History Museum (Historiska Museet) in Stockholm, Sweden (Item 120525, SHM 10796). The original piece, a gilded bronze sword hilt (see last photo), is a tomb found at Broa on the Swedish island of Gotland. Many finds attributed to the Vendel era (roughly lying between the Migration Period and the Viking Age in Swedish history) testify to the high quality of craftsmanship achievable in Scandinavia at the time.In terms of shape, this one-hander is a classic example of a Norse or Viking sword. The wide double-edged high-carbon steel blade is medium-length, with a broad fuller running the entire length of the blade and disappearing just before the point. The edges are not sharp, while the tip is pointed, and the full tang of the blade is threaded to the pommel. The gorgeous hilt of this one-handed sword is made of bronze, polished, and adorned with intricate motifs inspired by the original artifact. Since swords with all-bronze handles can tend to be heavy and a bit unbalanced, we opted for a hollow hilt to get around this issue. Our one-handed Vendel sword comes complete with a brown wooden and leather scabbard with wooden hanging loop (maximum belt width of 5.5cm) and brass throat and hat. Please note that this medieval sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, for example, to complete your outfit.

Viking Sword Rus , Petersen D, Gnezdovo, C-2 Barrow, 10th C
This beautiful one-hand Viking-era sword is based on a find discovered in 1950 at the gnёzdovo archaeological complex near Smolensk, Russia, during the excavation of tomb C-2. Dated between the 9th and 10th centuries and classified as Type D according to the typology of Petersen's Viking sword, the original piece was in a pit under the remains of a funeral pyre inside the tomb.Although the finely crafted and richly decorated handle (believed to be the product of a Gotlandese craftsman) was still remarkably well preserved, the blade was broken and folded. Despite its rather precarious state of conservation, it was still possible to detect engravings on its surface: an "O" shaped symbol on one side and the remains of a cross on the other. It is not yet clear whether these marks were the blacksmith's identifiers or if they were added later.Although its property cannot be clearly established, the materials and quality workmanship used in the drafting of this sword suggest that it was probably once the prestigious weapon of a noted Viking Rus chief or warrior.
