Functional Medieval Sword
This sword is a design according to oakeshott typology, Type X, with a Type I button and a Type VII protector. Oakeshott's typology was created by historian and illustrator Ewart Oakeshott as a way to define and catalog the medieval sword based on physical form. Classify the swords of the European Middle Ages (11th to 15th centuries) into 13 main types labeled from X to XXII. Oakeshott introduced in his treatise "Archaeology of Weapons: Weapons and Armor from Prehistory to the Age of Chivalry in 1960". It is a continuation of Jan Petersen's type of Viking sword, introduced in De Norske Vikingsverd ("The Norwegian Viking Swords," 1919), as amended in 1927 by REM Wheeler in a typology of nine types labeled I to IX.

The Seax, or Sax, is a weapon that has been carried by most people so far in northern Europe. Loaded and used by the Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and German tribes, their first use probably dates from before the fall of Rome and continued until the early Middle Ages. The Seax pattern varied greatly from the small 7- and 10 cm-long blade knife to the royal swords from 68 to 71 cm, but always from a single end. The original version of this large knife was used as much as field work, such as cutting work, on board the ship and to combat whether the sword or axe were not available.

Functional English bastard sword
Out-of-Stock
This sword is a replica of the A477 number from the famous Wallace collection. It was mainly a cutting sword, with a wide blade with a crushed oval cross section that opposed little resistance in a cutting blow. A perfect example of a true bastard sword. The proportions of the sword are those of a one-handed sword, but with a slightly longer pommel and a fist shape that allows you to use with both hands. The grip is made of wood covered with drawstring and leather. The long quillion is decorated at the end and the side rings provide good protection by hand. Well-tempered high carbon steel blade. Note: To be so faithful to the original, the old finish is applied by hand and will vary with each sword.

Celtic Shortsword, from 3rd to 2nd century BC, with leather hem
Swords with anthropomorphic fist are rare archaeological discoveries. This leads to the assumption that such swords may have been ceremonial weapons reserved exclusively for warriors of higher position. The limited size of these daggers and swords (approx. 50 to 70 cm) further corroborates this theory. However, they were still functional and could have served as secondary weapons for longer swords. The profile of the handle remained quite squeematic at first, but its human form became more graphic in the course of the 2nd century BC, with a head-shaped pommel.
The sword is equipped with a copper guard, a brass and bone handle and a steel blade.
